A replacement stinger for the offshore pipelaying vessel “SEMINOLE” has been built and installed at Gelibolu Shipyard. The stinger is used to guide pipelines to the bottom of the sea during installation. The 59 meter steel structure consists of two sections and weighs over 310 tons.  Design of the structure was developed by the vessel’s owner Micoperi and constructed at Gelibolu Shipyard. Installation and commissioning of the new stinger was carried out at the shipyard pier.

SEMINOLE STINGER COMPLETED

Gelibolu Shipyard has completed the steel cutting ceremony for their new General Cargo Vessel, NB 60, designed and developed by Conoship International. The 3600 DWT carrying capacity sea-river coaster has been designed with diesel-electric propulsion and the highest fuel efficiency standards. Designed to be both efficient and easily adaptable to new technologies, the project is considered “future proof” and is already below EEDI phase 3 requirements. ‘’Our project has been designed to be well-prepared for the future. As we know, fuel consumption, new types of fuel, renewable energies and energy savings are key topics in all areas of newbuilding. Bearing in mind market requirements, the operating area and priorities of our customers, we believe this vessel will set a new standard in its class now and in the future. A SHIPBUILDING STORY TO SET NEW STANDARDS

The 5 th International Roads, Bridges and Tunnels “Road2Tunnel” Fair was held on 15 – 17 September 2022 in İzmir. Oya Aksoy, Member of the Board of Gelibolu Shipyard was invited to speak on a panel titled ‘’Fuel Efficiency in Vessels, Next Generation Energy Systems and Future Technologies”, and presented information to participants about the capabilities shipyards must develop before and after the building of vessels which have been furnished with next generation energy systems, the degree of preparedness of Turkish shipyards for the technologies of the future, and relevant vessels currently being built in Turkish yards.

Gelibolu Shipyard has proudly taken part in the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge Project, which on competition
shall be the suspension bridge with the longest central span in the world; with a distance of 2023
metres between its two towers. The shipyard supplied both vessel repair and modification services,
and steelworks in the following areas: 
- Repair-maintenance-refurbishment services for the barges, ships and marine vessels operating in
the field and the construction site; 
- Manufacture and installation of barge reinforcements for loading and carrying the caisson piles
when the bridge foundation was being laid; 
- Production of &quot;Mega Support&quot; and &quot;SPMT Support&quot; steel construction which enables stacking the
bridge deck slabs ashore and carrying them to the stock area; 
- Production of the steel lifting gantry supports and the lifting frames with a carriage capacity of 500-
520 tons for the overhead assembly and disassembly of the cranes used for lifting the bridge deck
slabs; 
- Production of &quot;De-tensioning&quot; and &quot;Temporary Hanger System&quot; structures that fix and suspend the
bridge blocks weighing between 400 – 800 tons, and production of “Overpass Platforms” that enable
passage between blocks; 
- Production of a variety of steel structures amounting to over 3000 tons total, including 4 steel
towers with 45 m height for the reinforcement of catwalks.

GELIBOLU SHIPYARD PARTICIPATES IN THE BUILDING OF THE 1915 ÇANAKKALE BRIDGE

The ultra-shallow draft tug “Caspian Fauna” has been featured in Riviera’s “10 Innovative 2020 Tugboat Deliveries.” Delivered in June 2020 by Gelibolu Shipyard, the tug has a draft of just 1.8 metres and maximum bollard pull of 25 tons. It is classed by Bureau Veritas for unrestricted navigation, anchor handling and has ICE-Class 1D. Accommodation is for up 10 persons.
The tug was designed in close collaboration with Seaplace and was delivered to Caspian Offshore Construction after completing successful trials. She is currently operating from Aktau Port in the Caspian Sea.

CASPIAN FAUNA FEATURED IN "10 INNOVATIVE 2020 TUGBOAT DELIVERIES"

The General Cargo Ship “Azov Forward” is Gelibolu Shipyard’s first delivery in 2020. With a length of 145 m, beam 22 m and draft 4.8 m, this shallow-draft ICE classed vessel has a total carrying capacity of 12300 DWT. Concept Design of the vessel was carried out by Conoship International, with classification by Bureau Veritas. The vessel is powered by two MAN engines with a total power of 2 x 1470 kW and speed of 10.5 knots. Accommodation is provided on-board for up to 13 people.
